1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Hi Kirby,
Got my Crema Da Barba and badger brush yesterday, as well as my first suit hangers. Absolutely top notch product, love it. Any chance you will be offering a straight razor at some point? I want to skip right over safety razors and go to that.

I'll probably begin carrying these next year, along with some upgraded badger brushes.

I just received a sample of a straight razor and am looking to learn how to use it. Hopefully I will not do much permanent damage!

Just scored some autographed copies of Alan Flusser's Style and the Man and Dressing the Man to sell just for the holidays! Thanks to Alan for taking the time to autograph these for me!

Awesome! Let me know what you think! Also, remember that there is Free Shipping on all orders over $50.00. I've adjusted the StyleForum promo code to include this for all orders over $50.00.

Please post some before and after pics when you get a chance.

I am interested in buying an umbrella, but the postage to Sydney is an extra 20% on top.

Is there anyway you can work some magic for the 22nd of December promotion?

    Cheers

Just to report back on my order.

Didn't get charged any duties but there was HST (went through USPS).

    The hangers are awesome :)

btw any special care for the palatino socks? I did one test wash on one of the pairs and the logo/100% cotton/made in italy text pretty much came off (is it suppose to be that way or they aren't meant for machine wash and strictly hand?).

Anyways pretty much wore these socks for 12 hrs and they never even moved and you kinda forget you're still wearing socks :)

Thanks, kyojura! Glad to hear that things worked out with international postage. Thanks for the feedback. It's incredible how inconsistent the customs treatment can be even within the same country.

Regarding our new Palatino Socks, I am so happy you are enjoying them. The feedback has been incredibly positive. Nobody makes a cotton sock with as high-grade cotton as we do with this one -- it is why we had to have it made especially for us. Standard sock collections do not include cotton as fine as the cotton used in our socks because of it's delicacy (an inherent characteristic).

    Regarding your questions:
    1. Yes, a more detailed sock care tutorial will be forthcoming early January. However, in short:

    • Turn your socks inside-out before washing.
    • Machine wash delicate cycle in cold water.
    • ONLY wash your socks WITH SOCKS. Do not mix with other articles of clothing, which could cause them to accumulate lint (another reason for turning inside-out before washing -- even if they do accumulate lint, you can just turn the socks right-side out). There is no quicker way to ruin a pair of socks than to throw them in the washing machine with a bath towel... you'll never remove the lint.
    • Use light detergent.
    • DO NOT dry in a dryer. It will cause the elastic in the top band to degrade, thereby shortening the life of the sock. Instead, turn right-side out and hang try. This is CRITICAL.
    • Always keep your toenails trimmed. Fine socks are exactly that: fine! The higher quality the sock, the thinner the cotton yarns. The finer the cotton yarns, the more delicate they are. So, although the toes and heals of our socks are reinforced with a third yarn (3-ply yarns instead of the 2-ply used throughout the rest of the sock), you can still tear a hole in them with a sharp toenail. It happens.
    • If you do wear a hole in your socks, consider darning them. It adds character. :D

    2. The text is designed to wash off. This is normal. Happens with all socks.

We'll be receiving more socks beginning late January. Exciting things planned for 2013. Let me know if you have any special requests!

    Cheers,

    Kirby

Kirby's products speak for themselves, but it was the service Kirby provided that is unparalleled. I ordered a couple of items these past weeks, and Kirby went out of his way to make sure the products were delivered by my unreasonable time frame. Also, he was very quick (within minutes) to respond to all the questions I had and made sure everything was to my satisfaction. What a great guy! He does Texas proud!

For me (size ~9 foot) affordable over the calf socks in solid colors (with a few bold/exciting colors) that can be ordered based on foot size (instead of just Medium or Large) and that are actually constructed for a given foot size. In other words, don't let me order a 20cm and send me a Medium.

I think a thinner wool would be good too in my opinion, most of my shoes are sized perfectly to where thinner socks (like pantharellas) fit them perfectly. Only downside is they lack comfort a bit that way.

Maybe thinner wool on the top side but a little thicker for foot cushion. I like wool better because they maintain foot temperature better.

I went home and low and behold my trouser hangers (Clamp style) and garment bag were there. The trouser hangers are probably my favorite piece out of all the HP stuff I've purchased thus far, I have the Suit hangers, jacket hangers, and shirt hangers, but these are a work of art. The clamping mechanism actually has a release mechanism that's great. It also saves a ton of horizontal space in my closet which is precious to me so I'm ecstatic! As for the garment bag, I'm pretty sure this is a bullet proof vest for any garment you put in it, ridiculously thick and awesome. Very happy, Thanks Kirby!
