The gucci big "g" belt

I just wanted to know what you all think of the Gucci Big G Belt???

Personally, I think it's tacky, as most logowear is. I can excuse logowear when 1) the logo is particularly clever or attractive (or at least very small); 2) the logo is virtually unknown; or, 3) the item in question was on sale for about $9.95. Since the Gucci "G" is none of the above, it registers with me as the sort of item that puts the "conspicuous" in "conspicuous consumerism."

Your mileage may vary, of course.

IMO, strictly for the ghetto. They might have been clever five years ago, when everyone else was gripped by the cold hand of minimalism, but even members of the ghetto fabulous set (Puffy, J-Lo, and their ilk..., who can at least be respected for doing their own thing) have moved on and don't wear them anymore.

If you sport a pencil mustache, wear a fur coat and like using your pimp stick though, they'll always be in style. Also, props for anyone who lives in rural Kenucky and can pull off the look - that's ballsy.

I think they are really nice.. but only to wear if you have absolutely no logos on your clothes. Then the big G would look better than if you're walking around with PRADA across your chest.

The only way I could see it as working is to dress in a 80's hip-hop style with a white fake Hermès t, black denim pants with a center crease, old school leather Pumas/Adidas, and either a brown leather bomber jacket or a jumper with the stripes down the arms.

Ha ha, sounds more like a costume than a wearable outfit (hmm... Halloween is coming up

) But seriously, with anything you're unsure about wearing, ask yourself "what does this say about me?" Come up with an honest answer and go with it.
