You don't hear much from the humble polo shirt around here. I have a history of deep loathing for the polo, probably because when I was a kid my mom made me wear one to a family occasion when I wanted to wear my Speed Racer shirt instead. That aside, my company instituted a rule recently that you must wear a collared shirt at a minimum when working after hours. At all other times it is business casual. This has seen the exponential growth of polo shirt appearances at work, and while I am no closer to loving the polo shirt, it does make me curious. What does everyone think of them? On what occasions are they appropriate? Are they to be considered wardrobe essentials? Personally I don't care how essential they might be, that wayward collar and boxy appearance are not for me.
