There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

So the friendly people of Sydney announced yesterday that the Leo DiCaprio version of The Great Gatsby will be shot there. Good for them. Jobs and that....

    http://screen.nsw.gov.au/data/newsletter/90/body.html

What bothered me was that they are making one of my all time favorite books in three-fucking-dee.

The world does not need this. I mean really? As cool as it may be to have Tom Buchanan fold up into a Decepticon...the world does not need this. Please may this be shark-jump point for 3D audience money gauging, and please may it fail even harder than when Luhrmann made the woeful Australia a couple of years back.

Fortunately a bunch of tools will watch it and encourage the studio to make more films in 3D

O/T - Andy Kaufman used to read that book out loud on stage to taunt his audiences.

Betcha when the movie comes out some critic will headline his review with "The Good Gatsby". That's just the nature of banal cleverness.

I feel required to see it in some form.

3D is a gimmick that has to be stopped.. it takes away more from the movie then it adds.

The book really wasn't that good. Don't know how they'd make the movie better.

Baz Luhrman is an interesting director. I'm looking forward to seeing this. I really enjoyed Moulin Rouge and Australia.
