hard to take someone seriously who's done a 20-man ass to mouth
I loved the fact that it lacked structure. Where you saw poor writing, I saw realistic writing. It was awkward and strange in the same way that real life is. But yes, I totally understand where those criticisms come from. Some people will absolutely hate it.
Do you mean dialogue or writing? The dialogue was your run of the mill "Soderburgh attempts David Mamet" that was used just as poorly in his Solaris remake (yet it was strangely absent in his "somewhat good" movies like Traffic and Out of Sight). The writing and plot was atrocious. The whole climax of the move hinged on one entirely unlikely character trait of Chelsea's. The movie also used the time fractured plot poorly. Soderburgh is forced to revisit a couple of events more than twice.
