I remember when these were really popular a few years ago (ten or so...):

I was a bit shocked to see they were still for sale in a shoestore I visited recently. EDIT: But then I realized they were originally launched in the 1970s, so they are probably not going away anytime soon.

While there may be some overlap, I think the two are generally distinct demographics. The type of women that wear Ugg boots are the same ones that carry those ugly ass Coach purses, wear Seven or True Religion jeans, and try to at least pretend to be high brow. I've seen 300 pound women with rollers in their hair wearing Crocs for Christ's sake!
