There is a lot of expensive junk in the world of clothing, and it appears people on this forum are constantly looking for bargains. The sales thread is helpful, but sales aren't the same everywhere.

So the question is this ... Have you found any full, retail price items that are total steals?

I don't care about the brand; basically, are you getting good quality for the price?

I'll go first. Old Navy is currently selling super-thin zip-up hoodie sweatshirts. They're mixed in the racks with their regular, thick, ugly-ass sweatshirts, but the hoodies I'm talking about are almost as thin as American Apparel t-shirts. They are plain too, no logos or slogans on the front or back. The label at the neck says "Designed by a local San Francisco artist" or something like that. I've seen similar thin sweatshirts going for $50-80 at other stores, but Old Navy is selling them for $19.50. They're perfect for throwing into your bag because they are so light, and you can whip them out in an over-air-conditioned movie theater or for a summer evening stroll.

Has any one else found a full-priced item that is a total bargain? Please share!

Last month I bought a pair of well... I guess you could almost call them "manpri's" (long, slim men's shorts) at H&M for about $20-$25 (can't remember exactly)

I had never seen that style shorts until I joined SF and saw another member wearing them but they were an expensive designer.

Anyway - they are exactly like the expensive ones and perfect for my tall, lanky ass!

pretty sure I have these exact same ones. The linen they use is garbage quality and they've lost a lot of color, but they're still a bargain for the price.

Are you talking about those that look like Ann Demeulemeester 3/4 pants?

Ah, I just thought of another one.

The military web belts you can buy at any Army & Navy surplus store for $3 to $4. They come in black or green or navy, with a shiny silver buckle ... you know the one. I love them, and they go with everything.

Whenever I see them sold anywhere else for $20+ I just have to laugh!

Army Navy stores in general, of course.

I'd say most basic sneakers are still a bargain--converse, vans authentics and eras.

Canvas messanger bags at Military surplus stores and sites like http://www.militaryclothing.com/IBS/...howall/65.html Most all under $20, styled nicely and durable. I love the black plainfront paratrooper shoulder bag i have and use it to carry books to class and it hasn't wore down yet. 100% cotton tshirts/vnecks/unecks BDG at UO. They're 2 for $24 and a size small fits me as good as any tshirt i've ever tried on. I love em'. I have a black tshirt, black vneck, and white vneck but i'm probably going to order a white tshirt and a wide neck shirt or too just because they fit me so well (it's hard because i'm between small and medium). Cotton is soft too. Brett- are you talking about rolled up sweatpants like lowrey wears? I know he does that look a decent amount and wears it very well and still maintains a sophisticated look despite it being sweatpants (kinda urban streetweary). Him and nairb on sufu wear them and i like the look. Not all sweat pants roll up and look like that though. I tried on about 4 different sweatpants at AA and finally found a pair that worked perfectly and got them in slate grey. I'll bust it out in a waywn in the next week or so.

for me the 35$ you spend on a wrangler denim work shirt is reasonable...

if you are wearing it for style its stylish
if you are wearing it for work it holds up well

also it has the w which seals the deal imo

armynavy surplus stuff. Yesterday I ordered a vintage swedish peacoat for like 38$. The quality is pretty outstanding, so if it fits remotly like I want it, I have a nice and cheap winter coat coming up.

That H&M denim shirt that I had on in WDYWT is a good bargain imo aswell. Really nice quality for the price.
