Title says it. Mrs. Spoo wants to take me to a nice birthday dinner, and Im down to these 4 - but if you can think of anything better Id love to hear suggestions.

Have already done Per Se, Daniel, Le Bernadin, Del Posto, etc.

WD-50 sucks nuts. I would throw that off the list.

L'Atlier is a good choice if you've never been.

Alto or L'Atlier are good choices.

I think Ramsay is Ramsay in name only, he might not even be associated with the restaurant anymore.

It would be a terrible idea to go back to a place you have already been. Avoid that at all costs.

I've been to most of the places you've mentioned in your post multiple times. Of the choices you've listed, I'd go to L'Atlier. But my favorite place in NYC is Eleven Madison Park. It has been, at least for me, the most complete experience of any place I've been to semi-regularly. In fact, it's one of my favorite restaurants anywhere.

Read my review in "what did you eat last night" -on L'Atelier NYC - I was severely disappointed vs. the Vegas and Paris outposts.

I've heard WD50 can be more miss than hit, but given your list, I'd probably try that.

You didn't mention Masa's, Marea, Jean-Gorges... unless they were in the etc.

I should have said I wanted to try something new... EMP is a favorite haunt, did 2 birthdays and my wedding reception there, so no more on that. JG I forgot, have also been. Masa no good, as Im allergic to fish, so didnt fare that well at LB

Seriously.. IMO you should Fly to Vegas if you want to eat at L'Atelier.

Have you considered going on a road-trip south and checking out either Minibar or the Inn at Little Washington?
