Or Ivy hat, or driver hat. whatever you want to call it. Who wears them, and if you do, can I have some advice? I'd like to start working them into my wardrobe, and I'm looking for some inspiration.

Cheers

Works with some types of heads/looks.
It's the only type of hat I wear, personally.

What body types and looks do you find they work with?

I'm a smaller, slimmer guy with a tiny head and a preppy look. Most hats tend to look really good on me. I've got my eye on a brown corduroy flat cap, but have yet to commit to it. I might need to try a cheap one out for a few days and see how I like it.

I wear one nearly everyday. I have some heavy wool and tweed ones for the colder months (including one with ear flaps that fold down from the inside) and I have an old wool/linen one for the warmer months. My lighter weight one has gotten pretty grubby and is bordering on unserviceable so I am currently looking for a new one.

I drive a Jeep with no top or doors through most of the spring and summer and I need something to help provide a little extra shade for my nose and lips (which always seem to get sunburned) when it's sunny out and also to help keep my hair from getting too wild on my way to work in the mornings. Plus, the flat caps seems to go better with more of my wardrobe or in more occasions than a ball cap does (though I will occasionally throw on my Tigers, Red Wings, or USS Belleau Wood cap).

Tend to think it goes better with denim, boots, workwear. Looks that are casual and not overly fussy or fitted.

I really need something to help with sun glare if I'm not wearing sunglasses. I used to wear contacts and sunglasses, but switched to non-tinted prescription glasses most of the time for close reading/computer work.

What really bugs me living in CA are guys who wears a driver's cap with cargo shorts and checkered Van's.

Seriously hate that. I live in Long Beach and I don't know if it's the Sublime influence or what. They are all over.

This resonates with me. I can see how a flat cap might look a bit out of place if the rest of my outfit is heavily tailored and formal. Thanks for this tip.
