Any thoughts on White Mountaineering vs Junya (Made in Japan)?

Considering a couple items with current sale pricing, but won't have the opportunity to see in-person. In favor of WM the pieces I'm considering are 100% wool; the Junya stuff is wool blends.

How's quality? Not having first hand experience with Junya, in particular, can't tell how much of the price is simply the label vs construction/material/intangibles.

Earlier in the thread, someone mentioned Marni knitwear. This just popped up on one of my RSS feeds and looks great, IMO:

Any chance of finding these or this Marni? Also if someone wants to sell. Size M or L. Very serious about purchasing. Thanks,

Wrongweather has a similarly patterned Dries sweater. Not a pullover but with a hidden placket.

Last week Jeffrey had that Marni pullover at 60% off for about 360ish. Almost bought it. The Marni store still had the cardigan version last week but I think it's gone now (they were in the process of shipping fall when I asked about it) they don't go past 50 though so it was still like 450. :(

Marni has the best knits period.

for the record I own that schneider shawl collar cardi posted up there and it doesn't hold a candle to the marni sweater. also white mountaineering knits are pretty nice though I haven't seen any particularly thick ones, they have a good hand and the patterns are usually interesting occasionally too busy for my tastes.

That DvN turtleneck is up on the corner. I think they only had an L left.

White Mountaineering knits I've handled haven't been too great for the price. They feel like they should be much cheaper, not that they're bad.

    Yohji
    Ervell x 4
    Henrik Vibskov
    Roberto Collina
    Nuur x 2 (1 on its way)

    Bunch of Uniqlo

Looking to acquire 1 more and I'd be pretty in terms of rotating between them.

I am surprised I do not own any of the MMM, SS, et al.

Toast I'm surprised you don't have any SS knits. I thought you would've grabbed an Ijevan during the sales.

I did not find them that impressive and was not fond of the collar though it is similar to my Ervell pima cotton cardigan.

I tried one of their mohair blend scarfs as was turned off by the shedding. For SS I'll stick with the staple outerwear pieces he presents every season and possible the wool / cotton scarfs.

FWIW the knit that cost me the most also pills the most, but also has the most character I guess with the pattern and blend (laine wool / cotton) re: Yohji. I think it is just the character of the piece as it has fuzz all over the knit if inspected closely. Really soft despite the pilling though and smooth surface on hand.

I had been looking at it since it first appeared on thecorner. Was exactly was I was looking for but couldn't justify the price.
    Regret it now... [IMG]

At approximately "way too rich for my blood" this knit is excellent:
