1. suede is a bit more casual (nice with jeans or tees)
2. split toes are preference, slightly more casual since more lines/seams, but outside of the menswear world no one will notice the casual difference

Shipton & Heneange Ranger by C&J, basically a Chiltern mounted on Vibram. I had them boxed for 6 years.

Something to notice is that there is no lining in the shaft, the only pair of boots I have seen with that lining.
I think, we‘ve seen them already!?

They look good. Interested hear your sizing experience. According to their sizing guide I am a size 11 (30cm foot plus 1cm) but I wear a size 12 in everything else.

I'm usually a 10 size, Gaziano & Girling, Edward Green, but for other brands I have to size down to 9 1/2, as for John Lobb and Crockett & Jones. For Carmina I have both sizes, according to the last (10 for the Simpson, 9 1/2 for the Forest).

I already have the Greenfflex by Astorflex in 44, the length is right, but they are pretty wide.

I only tried on the Dukeflex quickly, but I think that the last fits better, being narrower and possibly a little higher on the toe. Size is 44 as well.

I love my Greenflex. They are easily the most comfortable shoes I own. I walked in them for 3-6 miles (4.5-9 km) a day for 3 weeks earlier in the summer.

One warning - don't wear them with raw denim. The indigo rubs off and stains the suede. This is true for any suede shoes.

Thank you for the advice. I actually have no denim trousers and probably won't ever have, at least in the real cotton one. Other kinds of it, especially in wool, are pretty attractive to me.

They are unlined, so possibly suitable as summer boots, still I feel they were better in autumn.

Possibly too casual for worsted wool trousers.

Better with linen.

But I think they would look perfect with corduroy.

I have been wearing the same dark chestnut DF. Generously sized but the sole isn’t the comfiest, wouldn’t want to put a lot of miles on them in one session.

Quality is very good. I’ve been wearing them with chinos of several hues all summer. They look a bit wide and goofy but I like that!

I think they would look perfekt with any other pair of trousers than these widish pink shorts?
just my two cent...

The problem is that I only have tailored trousers and feel that they are too formal for the boots. As I always say, an outfit has to have the same level of formality. I think they would be perfect with chinos.

By the way, why do you call them shorts?

By the way, why do you call them shorts?
mostly in behalf of their wide & short legs?

in germany they are known as "capri-hosen", commonly worn by elderly pensioneers in combination with beige reporter-vests.

sorry for the joke! you could try denim, corduroy or hopsack with these nice but rough boots.
