My girlfriend had a pair of the white Muji plimsoles, she tossed them in the trash last week for some reason, but I think they stayed together quite admirably for $20 shoes, over the course of a year. Had a really nice silhouette with black skinny jeans (she looked really Dior S/S05) and were perfectly inconspicuous.

Here are some sneakers from a brand called SAWA. Not sure of any retailer other than Comme Des Garcons' and Wood Wood's B&M shop. Retail is like $95 IIRC. One interesting this about them is EVERYTHING is made in Africa (sole, leather, laces, thread, etc).

Don't know if these are baller or non-baller, they cost about $150. Paul smith dip dyed, probably the most durable shoes I've owned, they've had heavy wear for about a year through a fairly bad winter, I went in a river wearing them once and have had tonnes of drink spilled on them, and the soles are still perfect and the leather looks fine. Only annoying bit is that the colour of the eyelets bleeds into the leather.

they are apparently the go-to shoe for members of the French Foreign Legion, which in and of itself is a pull to these shoes IMHO.

What is there to "think about" regarding an adidas samba purchase? I was fly as fuck in like sixth grade (?) when the white samba milleniums first came out; on and off the pitch. Do you want a comfortable shoe that looks semi-decent at the grocery store and is also really handy if the street urchins in your alley start playing pickup with a grapefruit? Great fucking shoe. Ball away.

All hail the might of imperialism.
