Looking for a very small bag for when I'm carrying wallet, phone, and a few other items. Any ideas?

I'm not sure what a rucksack is(old time backpack? Did Daniel Plainview have something similar?) but I like the design, the white one is pretty nice, but agree about the dirtiness.

I might be tempted for the black or brown.

    rucksack (UK) = backpack (US)

Sure you're sick of me asking, but are there any bags out there with Gucci-esque styling for under $500? Studs, chains, etc. The bags you posted are nice but are too conservative for me. All the ones I've seen are fake leather. Beginning to think I should just settle for it LOL

Reasonably priced bags that are well designed and made are not that easy to find, IMHO.

yes and it sucks but you must pay, I wish it were not so.

This is one area (as with many!) where the Japanese have us beat. .....For $300-400, you can get an incredibly well made bag that will last forever. Every summer when I continue to be amazed at the selection of brands, styles, and quality at various pricepoints.

in the US you can have garbage at every price point.

    I can see your balls.

well he has a point, I don't like carrying a wallet unless I have a bag or jacket. Too chonky in the pockets.

Although I can't serve with studs and chains, those might be to your liking:

Collection Privee makes some really extraordinary bags. The above two are rather ordinary by their standards, though. Unfortunately, the current choice of CP bags on Yoox isn't quite wide...

    Collection Privee ($800-2500)
Like Aristolasia, Jas MB, and Orciani, one of the first to do the whole "washed/relaxed/luxe" aesthetic. Sort of goth-ninja-ish. Materials and leather have been very nice, in my experience, though sometimes TOO washed/worn styled and almost delicate feeling. Very expensive, but easily found on discount.
FINAL VERDICT: If I were to go goth-ninja, I'd probably buy a lot more CP. Interesting aesthetic and brand, though sometimes odd.

I want a cheap reliable bag with less details. Just a bag that I can throw around.

Currently thinking of the Jansport Right Pack but I'm sure there are better options.

You can always add a cushion to a strap. I agree with you, I like that bag. At $55 its a steal, although it does not appear to be waxed. You might be able to pick up a lightly used filson bag off ebay for about $100. If you don't mind backpacks the Maine Guide Rucksack looks like an amazing value to me at $120.
