So with the shelter-in-place order, I was about eight weeks overdue for a haircut and feeling a bit ... desperate ... yes, that's the euphemism. So ... uhhh ... I ... uhhh ... took my clippers and give myself a #5 on the side and a #10 across the top. This was a first for me. The result isn't truly awful ... but it's not good either. I'll be wearing a hat or cap for the next few weeks. I'm hoping enough hair grows back that as soon as my barber is open, he can give me a decent cut. We'll both wear masks ... but social distancing will be difficult.

Am I alone? I offered to give my 96 yo father a cut. He refused. Smart man.

I made an attempt this morning. It’s not great, but it isn’t “hide it under a hat” bad.

I'm just not used to hair this short. Otherwise it's okay.

My hair was getting out of control as well as my Bin Laden beard. Shaved both but kept a nice cool cowboy looking mustache

I've used the same pair of clippers, using a 1 guard, for the past twenty years.

Yes. It's a great bonding with my family! Try to take a video of it and share it.

Andis foil shaver for me. I shave my head nearly every night. Takes less than 5 minutes.

Now that haircutting is back in my area ... I'm thinking of going for this cut:

BTW that turns out to be Marius Goring in the 1946 film "A Matter of Life and Death".

I've achieved a middling level of competency at cutting my own hair using mustache scissors and several mirrors.

I'm particularly proud of the hairline at the back of my neck. Very straight.

That was my downfall. It required help.
