Besides, id disagree with that statement. A lot of clerics would not say that, specially thsoe deeply involved in the study of their religions. I have taken courses in two of those religions and both of the teachers (one a cleric and the other deeply religious, have said otherwise).

Of course, in the media and for political correctness, theyll say so.

And every religion will try to claim that the older book was simply predicting their own.

To me its really simple logic. I dont understand how you can claim its the same god.

Does a jew believe in the same God as a muslim? how so? Muslims say God wrote the Kuran, jews say he didnt. How is it the same entity?

CHRISTianity is based on christ, jesus, god, sacrificing himself in human form to save us. Do any of the other religions believe that God is Jesus?

How are those 3 entities the same? i dont get it.......

The two are usually cited as opposites. But recently, somewhat on the defensive, the religious have come up with ID; a halfway house which they can live with. Nice try.

I'm sure there is enough channel bandwidth for another rag bag of a belief system.

You have not even tried to write any kind of explanation(unless u count "put a rabbi and priest in a room" as one). If you wish to no longer talk about this thats fine, but this sentence really means nothing in this context....

there are 5 billion people in this world and with them 5 billion concepts of what God is and what "God" means.

i believe there is only one God to believe in, though of course everyone's idea of what It is will be based on their experience as individuals.

islam, as far as i know, is based on the notion that everything in the bible is true, but that what God revealed to mohamet supersedes it.
actually, not quite - the idea is that the bible that we know was "corrupted" by the jews. the stories are similar, but very different. for instance, in the 3 or 4 situations in the bible where one son is chosen over another, in the koran the otehr son is the chosen one.

what was the arabic word for "god" before islam existed?
allah.
