but that's kind the unfortunate norm everywhere these days..., so you have to kind "read between the line" on stock photo on major retailer these days...

Agree with you, but that's harder when relevant information like length are not apparent. I can only imagine calling and asking an SA to "measure length from BOC" lol, they'd probably hang up on me..

I think if you called Customer Service they would have the info at hand.

really, I never knew the generic 1-800 number have all measurement ready
I've done it with Hickey Freeman and a few other companies. If you email them they usually send a graph with the info. Not sure why they don't post it? Is it only us Styleforum weirdos that need it?

Going back to RL, some interesting pieces this year.

I'd be all over this if it didn't look so ridiculously short (although it could be the model's height):

Like the double pleats on the trousers. Also, looks like they're 'in-sourcing' back to Italy for their Polo suits. According to the description, they're also half canvassed.

Lastly, I can't tell if they're going for Cifonelli for their new 'Ralph' cut, or 30's Hollywood:

Jackets are at bellboy length... What the heck is RL thinking??

The SAs at the mansion can usually accommodate measurements questions over the phone. I found them to be quite accommodating.

Gregory seems to be the new Anthony. Structured shoulder and thIck padding.

Douglas has the same thickness in the shoulder as Gregory, but has softer padding.

Kent has almost no shoulder padding.

Ralph has a very extended shoulder, and is designed around the suits Ralph Lauren wears personally (Cifonelli?).

I have Douglas, I got Gregory from the RLBL days, on top of my head I don't remember it being as structured as Anthony for sure, probably should dig it out to compare...

I looked at my DB and can’t tell what cut it is. Doesn’t say on the label.

ha, never checked out RL UK, do they deduct VAT, some are actually cheaper if I can divide by 1.2 then convert to USD (no idea about shipping though...)

edit: actually most are cheaper if they deduct VAT, and more stuff in size 36 vs. US
