I have zero experience with Armani. Could never figure out the difference between their lines and never experimented with quality and fit. Would appreciate a primer if someone has more info.

think back in the days Emperior Armnai was half canvassed, Giorgio Armani is full canvassed?

I think back in early 2000s the "fashion" brand's tailoring were actually decent from construction perspective, like top of the line Gucci/Versace/Ferre (still exist?) were all top of the line Zegna

unless their domestic market will love it, I have a hard time imagining people in the west will pay up to 1200$ for Chinese rtw made shoes already...I mean if it’s just fancy patina one wants you have many way cheaper options outside of China (e.g caulaincourt, septiem largeur etc).

Yeossal and Oct Tenth x Son of Henry are in $600~$700 range both HW, think that would be the easy market, maybe they have a non patina line for <$1k?

I personally would pay for ~$1k if I see the quality is there, I mean EG and GG charge way over $1k for just even GW so to me still a bargain (and probably why I really like AM too, especially AM fits me better too)

edit: and I have a GMTO from Oct Tenth x SoH coming, so guess we will see, the article did say it's made in China then finished in Taiwan, so for all I know it might be Oct Tenth to start with...

Georgio Armani (or Black Label) has two tiers: 1. Half canvass; and 2) Full canvass.

The fully canvassed suits/SCs have basted stitching all over, as well as a higher MSRP.

I'd be interested to know whether they have their own factories, or if they contract it out. Vestimenta used to make their suits.

Emporio is half canvass I think. Collezioni was rolled into Emporio.

guess we will see. 800-1200 feels like quite an up charge relative to the examples you gave especially given that most European makers might charge about 100$ for personalized patina. Especially 1200$ starts to come pretty darn close to the higher end Meccariello for me. EG/GG always felt relatively high compared to what they offer but there’s obviously enough people who feel it’s worth it

I guess do people pay up for HW? I think one of the good value proposition is "we're just as good if not better", but HW, I mean it took Japan a while to build the reputation so I assume this will take a while too
