Now, this is probably best left to a place like the LL, but I'll give it a shot here.
I was speaking to a couple of older Italian tailors recently and I was discussing the predilection for open quarters. There was a bit of discussion about southern Italy but what surprised me most was the mention of 'like a Catalan'. According to these guys, in Catalonia, coats were worn with very open quarters and in particular the last button (in all but one-button coats) being set back slightly, like the last button on a waistcoat. This is also something we see plenty here.
Anyway, I just wondered whether any members here know anything of this. From memory, there was a Spanish chap who reared his head a few weeks ago.
