Love the color on the right. I had a similar pair from ebay that were made for Paul Stuart but they never really fit and I sold them. My go-to pair now is an unlined tan suede blucher from Peal. I'd like to get a pair of unlined suede loafers, too. The ones Parker showed above look like a good option.

    +1 for gnatty's Alden's.

dunno which ones you're referring to. he has a half brogue derby in sand, which i like a lot.

similar to the pair on the right, made by Handmacher

Suede is an interesting fabric in that it's tough and delicate at the same time, and it's very prone to scuffing. Since suede is such an investment, it's a good thing there are reliable techniques for removing scuffs. Here's our favorite:

You can use steam and a suede brush to get rid of the scuffs and restore some of the color. Hold the scuffed item above a pot of boiling water to raise the nap of the suede. Remove it from the heat source and use a suede brush to brush the matted material.

and i also love Best Suede Shoe.....

^^ but too close to the steam and the suede it'll burn. from bitter experience I speak. [IMG]

    Simple is good.

I grew up wearing light colored desert boots, year-round, especially Clarks. We couldn't wait to get them dirty and broken in. I like that broken in look for a casual shoe.

Ditto. I still wear them very often.

Probably not the best suede shoe for the summer, but in the interests of not starting a new thread... I bought a pair of C&J Cavendish in the Polo Brown Suede over the winter and now that it is warming up I'm considering how summer appropriate they are. I like the idea of tassels in the summer, just wondering what people think about that dark(er) brown in the summer.

I also have to mention that I saw a pair of the Alden West Eggs in Sand at the Epaulet shop a few weekends ago and it is a gorgeous summer shoe. Very nice alternative to classic bucks
