    Gentlemen, as we approach the end of another year I have been thinking about all the great Friday Challenges of 2016 and, given the nature of the internet, how quickly those fantastic images are lost in the mists of time.

    I know some people may X-post to WAYWRN and that they may in turn feature in the 25 thumb composite thread but some will not.

    So, I have been thinking about starting a thread like this to celebrate some of the great FC entries. 'Best of' is a subjective idea, I know, and I shall start with picking the top 3 entries from each FC and see where that leads us....

    Looking back, the first Challenge of 2016 was the 'Odd Vest' of 15 January. Organised by @Tom Miler , it was won by @upr_crust .

    The Odd Vest Challenge 15 January 2016:

    Let's move on to February and the FC of the 5th - the The Green Jacket challenge.

    Organised by @EFV and with two joint-winners @justkwan and @RogerP on 20 votes each!

    I wondered how we regard the lower places when we have a joint winner or joint second, etc. Here I was assuming the next placed man was third - @Gerry Nelson on 13 votes. But, looking at the Challenge again I see reference to @Anden and @Cleav as being on the podium - they both got 11 votes. So I shall adopt that more inclusive approach.[IMG]

    Clear winner @Cleav

    @Tom Miler expecting rain in second place this week

    @justkwan again on the podium in third

    Moving on to 19 February 2016 and a very close-run finish. Organised by @Cleav and won by @Gerry Nelson on 15 votes with @Anden second on 14 and @PCK1 and @Cleav joint third on 12.

    Moving on to the 26th and a very similar voting pattern for a similar Challenge - The Brown Tie.

    Big-hitters Anden, Cleav and Gerry were up there again but a maiden win for Diplomatic Ties.

    [IMG]
    @DiplomaticTies - winner

    [IMG]
    @Anden in a joint second place. He still gets a kick out of FCs!

    [IMG]
    @Gerry Nelson in joint second

    [IMG]
    @ammanati in joint third

    [IMG]
    And @Cleav

    When asked how he felt about his first FC win DT replied:

    [IMG]

    Well, I am going to have a little break before tackling spring or autumn - depending on your location - but just before that I may put up one or two of my favourites that didn't make the cut in Jan / Feb.

    Thanks again to @Mr Knightley for taking this on.

    Now that this thread has been established it occurs to me that it would be useful to periodically update it as new challenges occur — not unlike the WAYWRN 25+ thread, which has become a very useful resource.

    Relatedly, I think it would be useful to extend it to pre-2016 challenges as well.

    In any event, good job Mr. K.

    Cheers,

    Ac

    Thanks again gentlemen!

    I'm happy to carry on through 2016 after a little rest.

    Of course if anyone wishes to take on an earlier year (s) that would be great [IMG]

    For the Casual Elements Challenge of 11 March 2016 both Murl and Seb McFox were on the podium again with @sebastian mcfox a runaway winner with 40 votes. @Gerry Nelson was second on 21 with @Rais and @Murlsquirl sharing third on 18 votes.

    The FC for Friday 18 March 2016 was #Menswear. I am not sure if I completely understand the term and, looking at the entries it seemed to leave plenty of room for interpretation! It produced some great entries though with @sugarbutch the winner on 15 votes, closely followed by @crappbag on 14 and @Gerry Nelson on the podium again with 11.

    There was a bit of a gap to 1 April 2016 before the next Challenge, which saw a return to 'business as usual' on the podium. @Anden @Cleav and @EFV - in that order.

    Are you a Cardican or a Cardican't?

    The Challenge on 8 April was another Herringbone one.

    It was won by a very smooth @in stitches

    @katabatic was second with @Cleav sharing third with @sebastian mcfox

    For the 15th April Stitchy came up with a great idea - The 20th Century Man Challenge.

    It produced a very different podium (although EFV was still there!)

    @CruzAzul - Winner as 1970s man
    [IMG]

    @EFV at the cottage in second place
    [IMG]

    @Clouseau as a 1970s Suedehead in joint third
    [IMG]

    @McDermott as 1970 Amsterdam skinhead featuring double denim!
    [IMG]

    Then a break to 29 April for the trickiest Challenge of them all? Navy Trousers Unleashed!

    The Challenge was won by @AlexRamius , with @EFV in second. @Thin White Duke was third.
