That's a ridiculous (good) price.
Probably because Carmina price has dropped down to impulse buy territory for a lot of US folks recently, while Vass is still a bit hard to swallow.

Don't get this at all.
Vass 2nd hand is an incredible value. Regularly found for $350-$450 on the B&S for a lightly worn pair (often with trees). At this price it blows Carmina out of the water in detail, quality, and lasts.
Unless you have a problem buying pre-owned: Vass will wear better, look better, and hold value better should you ever decide to sell.

Agree with all of that but the issue is convincing everyone else!
I think that one of the issues is that people are nervous about Vass sizing.
This is exacerbated, of course, by the fact that quite a lot of the "Vass for sale" posts in the B&S subforum mention "got my size wrong" as the main reason for selling!
