No words of sympathy can soothe a grieving son as the passing of a treasured love one is a great loss - my condolences.

Sorry for your loss. cherish those things you choose to keep and use. though they will replace the great relationship and memories, you will have those things in your life to share with others close to you.

That's sad news Carl, my thoughts are with you and your family. I'm reminded of the shirt you showed me in your shop that was your dad's and how fondly you spoke of him and his great appreciation of well made clothes. - Jeff

After my grandfather died, also after a battle with Parkinson's, I wanted to keep everything. He was such a natty dresser. It was very difficult. Even now it seems wrong that his ties are in my closet, like he should be back any moment to plop his hat on his head at that jaunty angle. There's an intimacy to our relationship with our clothes, like a shell we leave behind, and that makes these situations all the more difficult for those of us who care about such things. For a long time, having bits and pieces of his wardrobe made me sad, but now I can look at his hat, or his sportcoats, or his ties, and smile. I'm glad to have these small reminders, and I'd like to think he'd be happy that some of the items he purchased many years ago are still getting good use.

This just goes to say how much I sympathize, Carl. You're in my thoughts.

My condolences and heartfelt sympathies. I still feel the loss of my grandfather who was a sharp dresser and passed this on to my father. Your wonderful memories reminded me of my Bar Mitzvah shopping. My dad took me for my first pair of AE's (which I recently had the pleasure of doing for my son) , a custom tie from a lovely woman named Rosa (I wish I could find her again), and had my suit tailored by his amazing bespoke tailor, Sy Friedman. My dad always smiles when he sees my son and me well dressed.

May G-d comfort you and your family among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
