No to shell, or just shell in the unlined loafers? Because crup seems to be on the broader menu these days.

I'd forgotten for a moment about C&J. I'll give them a try when next in London. Even if I have to wait for MTO, they do more than one flavor of shell. Alden created the look they're aiming for, but they do a nice version of it.

It was a "no" to shell loafers in general, although strangely, they were wiling to make a pair of crup monks for me at the time. But as you said they have expanded their crup offerings more recently so things might have changed.

Well, I'll be on Jermyn Street in a few weeks, so I'll find out what they say.

And perhaps triangulating to Northampton via Hawaii would produce a more satisfactory answer. :lookaround:

And now they're out of the Edward Green business. Oh, well. Good thing I didn't fly out to see them. :D

I completely forgot to post this a while back, but I have a pair of wholecuts in the works in a sort of caramel / cognac color, with a very unique lacing pattern like a triple lace but in pairs to keep the six eyelets that are needed for a foot of my length.

I shoot pictures over when they are finished but I just had my first fitting and they are quite close in fit already; just a tad tight on the top of the rear portion of the ankle collar and a little tight over my big toe. The rest is literally like a glove and almost all laces have to be loosened to get them on at first. It is incredible!

BTW, Vass can add more arch support and other modifications if you need it.

I didn't know that they would do that.
