The art of whistling?

I was taking a **** next to this blind fellow today. He whistles like a canary breaking free from a trapper's cage. I really want to learn to whistle. How does one go about doing it?

There's probably a whistling gene. I can make a sound but not a tune. Then there's likely another gene which allows you to play by ears, a gift I don't have.

Whistling, when you consider your lips as the musical instrument, is very difficult. No keys, no frets, nothing to help you to hit the right note. All you have is muscle memory. The only reason that a lot of us find it easy is that we have this instrument all our lives. Plus you probably do not sound as good as you think you sound. And if you're tone deaf, you're screwed.

I've got a buddy who stops conversations at parties while he whistles along to the music. Of course, it's not rap music. You can't whistle a rap song.

I'm pretty musical and have good relative pitch, but can't whistle. It just goes pffff-sssssh.

Yeah it takes a while to get the first whistle off, and when you do, you'll remember it. Things get easier from there.

I remember when I was a kid I wished if I could whistle tunes, so I kept on trying in my room everyday for about a month and now I can easily whistle any tunes.

Never realized that many people had trouble with it. A go to tune. The source is really random, it's a People's Army marching song used to teach illiterate soldiers the rules (stuff like not stealing from the peasants, marching in line, don't molest women, don't mistreat captives), but the tune is simple and catchy. And I know that the odds of anyone managing to place it are really, really low.

Im a habitual whistler. used to do it ALL the time. I remember I started dating this girl...REALLY pretty. Pro football cheerleader. (name drop) Anyway, we were talking in the car and she was complaining about this guy she knew who whistled a lot...said that she HATED it. That was when i knew we wouldnt last.

So I sacked her friend.

you need to curl your tounge a little and let the sound roll off the speed bag in the back of your throat and your palate. come to the meetup on the 14th, ill teach you.
