When they hem them for you they leave in a shrinkage allowance.
They did this for a pair of mine and I had no real issue. All in all I've found pretty negligible shrinkage on the sport chinos when I wash cold and hang dry. The guys at the store said they usually account for about 1cm of shrinkage if the pants haven't yet been washed.

Would you be able to share a picture or two? Just bought a pair in navy a few months ago and it still has a sheen so I'd love to see the 'end' version of them
Haven't been able to get good lighting until now but here are some of the cuffs, back pocket and coin pocket

Does anyone own a pair of Nigel Cabourn 5-pocket denim jeans that can shed some light on the shrinkage? I just purchased a pair and went with my normal size, as their website recommends. Do they shink a lot? I am normally a 32 and went with 32 and I'm concerned I should have went with a 34 to account for shrinkage.
Thanks.

If it’s these ones
Then yes, they are unsanforized so they will shrink about 2 inches both ways in the wash. I’d recommend either returning them if you want to wash them or just never washing them and keeping your current size.

Does anyone know the fabric weight of the sport chinos?
I'm not sure the exact weight but I'd say they're substantial and hold a crease well if you want that, but not too heavy or light either way. Will probably serve you well in all but the hottest or coldest weather (at least in NY).

I'd guess somewhere in the 10/12 oz range?

I bought a pair of Armoury/Ring Jacket Model A cotton chinos a while back on eBay and find them to be very stiff. So much so, I never wear them. Does anybody have tips/advice on how to soften them up? I feel like when I walk or sit down the chinos have almost no give to them.

not familiar with Armoury stuff but can't be worse than workwear, just have to wear them and break it in.

though when you say no gives, it sounds like wrong size rather than too stiff

Does washing help? If not, they might just be too small or skinny.

Nice write up/update from Simon on Armoury MTM options, plus updates on current base pricing.

The MTO/MTM prices for a jacket are actually pretty sound. I don't really understand why the matching trousers cost $800/$1000 for MTO/MTM respectively though.

From my experience I would agree with this comment. The chinos are a great weight, not too thin or too thick. I actually like the slight sheen of the navy color.
