Very good book. It calls for the "dissolution and disappearance of architecture" from the "singular object" process of assembling autonomous buildings together to form cities into a process in which architects value the modification of existing contexts in a way that reduces architecture's propensity to capture attention. Instead, the focus should return to subtly designing spatial atmospheres for pleasurable living as exemplified in the traditional Japanese values with the goal of an urbanism that reads with a continuous and cohesive linearity rather than a fragmented sum of polarized parts. Damn, that must be one incredibly long run-on blow-hard sentence....[IMG]

The chasm between that guy’s (mostly extremely “singular object”) works and the crap nonsense quoted above is mind-boggling.

I mean (best Seth Meyers/Amy Poehler voice) “...a process in which architects value the modification of existing contexts in a way that reduces architecture's propensity to capture attention...”

    My joke is a one-liner.

    Well, a two-liner actually.

How does the math on that work out? [IMG]

Anyway, hack architects really need to put away their G M-C books now...it's really wearing thin this year, and we're only in March.
