It's a cool place. Little broken up for me, but suits them well.

My other friends bought a "castle" on 125 acres with five large barns. That is a pretty damned interesting place.

That house could turn out pretty spectacular. It is not very attractive to me right now (there is something Dutch about it), but with a little work... Any pictures of grounds and inside?

I don't need 125 acres, but five barns sounds promising.

Yes you do. I have 25 acres upstate and it's not nearly enough to ensure that I don't see or hear neighbours.

The barns are great. Two very large working barns house animals (goats are just chock full of personality) and the other three have been turned into event spaces.

I may come to share your desire for solitude, but at the moment I just want enough room to work on and store some cars while also having a machine shop, woodworking shop, and studio.

I am a man of modest needs.

Wait. I just realized 125 acres might be enough room for a decent kart track. I'm sold.

Land by me is cheap. Everyone wants five acres until the see how small five country acres actually is. Besides, you're sitting on a SF real estate empire with your house.

Speaking of karts, I have a ridge and it would make for an excellent hotwheels track.

Personally I love the Atlanta-Fulton County Public Library System's architecture (when it isn't just generic government buildings).

The facade of the Hapeville branch and interior of our Central Library's brutalist masterpiece.

I spend too much time visiting state universities to have any remaining interest in brutalism. The academic building boom of the 60s leaves a lingering aftertaste of ‘raw’ cement.

As Americans it is our right to choose to be wrong.

Continuing my exploration of the AFPLS branches.... I'm a fan of the Northside Branch. Not because it is good--lord no it isn't. But because there's so much bad and there was clearly an effort at making something good. It's as if all the hideousness cancels each other out to become good.
