1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

God, this is incredible. I'm surprised everyone glossed over it. Look at how meticulously simple it is! Breathtaking!

Lol! They tore down Ai Wei Wei's studio, but I assume he refused to 'cooperate' with the right officials.

Btw, Ai Wei Wei is a de facto (Chinese) gov. stooge serving to pander to Western esp. American opinions. parading himself around as a show horse, shovelling millions by showing what a great dissident he allegedly is.

    In other words, neo-colonialism.

I've been staying in a small community of 25 or so homes called Albemarle Park in Asheville NC designed by Bradford Gilbert and Samuel Parsons. I'd just finished reading A Pattern Language and staying here was like living in a diorama of the ideals set forth in that book.

Almost everything I've seen by Ai Wei Wei is visibly a big middle finger up to either the Communist regime or Western capitalism. His work seems quite plainly to be the prototypical small-man-versus-the-machine stuff. I'm not sure how that makes him a government puppet. He also seems to spend all of his money on his studio, and making ever larger works; that doesn't really comport with your claim that he's in it for the money; and how would his personal wealth benefit the Chinese government?

Ew. Is there anything worse than people taking excessive pride in their ugly-as-shit eco houses?
