What exactly is 'Jewish architecture'? Aside from it hardly existing, what do you imagine the source of this melancholy to be... the Holocaust? Sometimes cliches make me giggle, Maman's Jewish food is made with tears.

    Has anyone been to Koldinghus??

I think it is a nice restoration.

I suspect Robert Venturi and Daniel Libeskind are the most controversial architects. Rem has a fairly comfortable place among his peers.

Isn't that where Jack Bower takes suspected terrorists for torture interrogation?

As I'm studying civil engineering and focusing primarily on concrete and steel structures, I'm intrigued by this. I often joke about how people should make huge, rectangular concrete blocks without any windows, just to make my job easier.
I mean, on one hand I can appreciate how concrete itself can be such a versatile material - it can be used to support an oil rig in the North Sea, or in this case, make a really strong impression. The pure function of concrete is mindblowing, but as Fang said, it kind of looks like a terrorist cell.

This one is interesting. I can't imagine how much trouble they had to go through in order to figure our the wind loads on this. It's going to be a pretty significant contribution. It's a pretty impressing building structurally, and it really shows what's possible with concrete as a material.

The 2009 release Chloe staring Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried featured Toronto based architect Drew Mandels Ravine House. See Casting Architecture for more buildings used in feature films.
