Fantastical is a very good iOS calendar app. There's a 14 day free trial.

Thanks much for the suggestion ?.
I'll look into that one.

Anyone getting AirTags? I'm ordering a four-pack of them. One for me and the rest will be gifts for the family.

As someone prone to misplacing my keys, I have been looking forward to these for a while. Early reviews are extremely positive if you are an iOS user. Less potential for Android people, but still usable.

I'd love for them to get a version of one of these in the shape of a credit card and thin enough to put in your wallet.

I’m getting a 4-pack too. I’m a little unsure if i will find them immensely helpful, though, because the personal item i most often misplace is my phone

I've used "find my iPhone" multiple times. One of the few Siri-related features I have used with my HomePod is asking Siri to ping my phone. Usually, it's fallen under my bed or couch.

Will be the first time I'm getting an Apple product engraved. It's free, kind of playful, and really completes the look for the AirTags.

My old fifth gen Ipod died. I think it's the HDD, I could replace it with a SDcard type convertor, stick in my 'spare' microSD cars sufficient to use up the 20000 track limit at 320 in these devices.. But is there really any point? I used to put this in the car, as my car is 2010 with no Apple Car play or whatever the android equivalent is.

I'm thinking about switching to an iphone rather than buying a new Pixel in the near future (95% sure I will be switching carriers in a few months, so might be able to score a promo deal).

But a while back I made a vow to stop buying new electronics that haven't standardized on USB-C. Not sure how to square that with getting an iphone.

Is there any chance Apple abandons lightning on the phones anytime soon? They've already embraced USB-C everywhere else...

Yeah, the rumor is they are on the verge of going completely port-less.

They might with the next gen release that should be announced in September. From the rumors I saw they are not going usb-c for the foreseeable future.

Stupid apple...I'm still a big user of wired headphones (which even on my pixel means a usb-c dongle) when I'm at my desk.

Mostly just want to switch because my work email forces you to use some ****** "Boxer" client on android, but works normally on iphones.

Also because android watches generally suck, but I have a semi-decent one and have warmed up to the idea of a smart watch...and my wife's apple watch is 100x better than my Misfit Vapor X...

At this point, my phone is just a phone/email/browser device and a camera.

The only apps I use are things available on every platform (maps, airline apps, etc.) and I really don't do any sort of customization that Android allows besides a calendar widget on my home screen so its not like I really benefit from the better app ecosystem or lose out on customization.

I'm more embedded in the google ecosystem (and prefer Google Assistant to Siri), but I'm 95% sure I can make things like gmail and google photos sync just fine with an iPhone. I really like the pixel cameras/software, but the iphones do fine there as well.

So it mostly just comes down to if I want to buy an apple watch and have a slightly better work email experience...and just suck it up and get some extra lightning cables/headphone dongles.

I find wires to be the devil...
When I'm working out with Ministry blasting on my quality buds, I don't miss the extra 5 or 6 bits of sound. Or the random shift of the arm that snags a wire sending the headphones flying and inducing a Wilhelm scream out of me.

I'm out of iWorld now but was in it just because it was a better work tool. It's easier and more convenient to use than my new Samsung but those cameras on the Samsung.

Taken with my new S21:

I have a set of wireless buds that I use sometimes...but I'm more likely to be sitting at my desk and just swapping my gaming headset over to the phone because someone wanted to talk on a real phone rather than Teams/Zoom. I just haven't embraced bluetooth in that scenario yet. I find that the extra latency compounds on top of the latency present in those conferencing tools and leads to way more awkward "oh, no, you talk" moments...especially on windows where bluetooth audio is far from optimized.

Oh well, we'll see. It looks like the Pixel 6 is getting rid of my beloved rear-fingerprint scanner, so I'm going to have to make some UX adjustments no matter what.
