there's sort of a good profile on Ive in the New Yorker.

I say sort of because at the end of the day it's just a long standard profile. Some cool bits here and there, but I'd really like to hear more about his design philosophy or inspirations.

Samsung just launched their own mobile payment platform. It's called Samsung Pay!

    cringe

They didn't even bother to try.

Lots of Apple Car rumors. Would be exciting to see what they can do.

Ah yes. The cycle must continue.

First we had different minters of cash....but they realized that was stupid and agreed on a single currency.
Then we had a bunch of random charge cards...we've mostly solved that barring a few places that still refuse amex/discover (and a few people who apparently still have diners club cards?).

Life has gotten too easy...time to add 5 different ways to pay for something with your cell phone.

So months with apple pay in the field - who here is using it? I've used it once when first available and not since.

Used it once at the Apple store. Getting my wallet and a credit card out is easier.

I use it all the time at the stores I frequent that take it. Much much easier than taking out my wallet and credit card. I do also like the added security and anonymity.

I actually like the popup I see whenever I buy something. I check my statement so infrequently that it could be days before I notice a fraud charge.

I use it a lot in NYC. Otherwise, my options are pretty limited.

I'm back to Gmail and the native app for email. Can't stand that Outlook notifications don't disappear when read somewhere else.

I've used Apple Pay a bunch, but find myself still reaching for my CC when I don't need to. It's a habit that's going to be hard to change.

Do any of you guys have any experience with some pixels dying on an iPhone 6? Would this be covered by Apple warranty?

I would assume so. Apple is generally pretty good on these types of issues, dead pixels aren't something you can "cause" through neglect.
