Gmail app is turrible. The only reason I used it was for push. Outlook is much nicer looking than the native app and Gmail so I'm going to stick with it.

Like I said, I really only keep the official Gmail app on my phone for seach. No 3rd party app does as good of a job of searching gmail's archive as Google's own.

Have you used Mailbox or Boxer? Both are fantastic 3rd party apps that blow away the one that Apple provides in iOS. From what I saw in my (very) brief use, Outlook didn't seem to have many advantages over either. I do want to play around with it some more, as I'm always open to improving my email experience on the go.

I'm using outlook for my work email and it's leaps and bounds better. Google should be ashamed of the Gmail app. It's a piece of shit, constantly forcing me to manually refresh my inbox to load messages I JUST got notifications for. That's not push, is it? I mean, the notification is, but my having to retrieve the message manually makes it feel like fetch.

Isn't there a load time with Outlook too it's just faster?

Could be. If so, it's fast enough for me to not notice, which is perfect.

Edit: anyone know how to delete a calendar event from the outlook calendar? It's a recurring one that got canceled but still shows up somehow.

Outlook doesn't let you attach files directly to emails from Drobox. Only links. Same problem I have with Mailbox. So far the only app I've found that lets you do this is Boxer, but I really wish they would streamline the UI some. It takes too many presses for some common tasks and it's just not as nice looking as Mailbox is.

It's a little disappointing that Outlook won't let you display more than one calendar at a time.

Google has inbox so I'm not sure why you "power users" would complain about gmail instead of switching to the Google app for people like you. I have all these apps on my phone but really I just use Apple mail. For me it's good enough as I rarely need to send attachments from my phone or do anything important with personal email and don't handle any work email from iOS since we are forced to use the terrible Good app.

I tried Inbox and couldn't get used to the app. Plus it's missing too many important features.

I am going to harshly judge anybody I see wearing an Apple watch. I will never give up my Explorer.

I'm not sold on the Apple watch either. Watches are one of the few pieces of jewelry that most men will wear besides a wedding ring. Asking them to replace them with a gadget will be a tall order, no matter how much Apple tries to position it as a fashion accessory.
