If we don't have rules, we don't have a society.
Fine. To placate the guy who isn't even bidding as far as I can see
475.69.

There. You ruined the joke. Hope you are satisfied.

I'd love to know what is upcoming, too, if possible, so I don't miss anything I really want to bid on. Any shoe MTOs this year?

I'll be real with you guys: we are winging it. We have a few more items finalized now. Others, we have a vendor, but not a straight up item yet, I'll put the tentative schedule up on the first post, and update as we go. It is a little sparse in details right now.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Please email me from the email with which you have registered your account at styleforum.net @ gmail.com and with the subject line: Charity Auction 1: Ehaberdasher cardigan, and we'll get things sorted and settled. Next auction up shortly.

Thanks for your generosity and cheeky bid. Yes, the ALS Association will take that 69 cents.

Charity Auction 2: Passus MTO shoes
.
The second auction is a pair of MTO Passus shoes. You’ll be able to choose between stock box calf or suede. These shoes are fully handmade, hand welted, with beveled pegged waist and fully hand-stitched sole using some amazing French box-calf, or suede, Rendenbach leather sole, and heel stock, or Vibram rubber sole.
Many forum members will be able to attest to Passus’ exceptional quality and attention to detail, but if that’s not enough, feast your eyes on these pictures:

Retail Price starts at 700EUR+VAT on Passus’ website, so we will begin bidding at $400 and go by increments of no less than $50. This auction end December 15 at 12:30PM EST or 10 minutes after the last bid.

Please note that this year, all winning bidders coming in at or above retail price will also receive a rubber "Styleforum Approved" bracelet, and that at the end of all the auctions, the three auction winners bidding the most above retail will also receive a Good Art Sterling Silver rosette "rubber biscuit" from Styleforum as in special recognition of your donation.

What is ALS?

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. A-myo-trophic comes from the Greek language. "A" means no. "Myo" refers to muscle, and "Trophic" means nourishment – "No muscle nourishment." When a muscle has no nourishment, it "atrophies" or wastes away. "Lateral" identifies the areas in a person's spinal cord where portions of the nerve cells that signal and control the muscles are located. As this area degenerates, it leads to scarring or hardening ("sclerosis") in the region.

As of today, there is no cure for ALS. The ALS Association’s mission is to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.

More info about ALS can be found in this informative video made by the Association:

Cheers,

Fok
