Auction 9: Amidé Hadelin Premium accessories
Welcome to the second leg of this year’s Charity Auctions! We have four auctions left, and while we can’t promise they’ll be as entertaining as your drunk uncle’s Christmas speech, they should be more enjoyable.
`
Today’s auction is generously offered by a brand that joined the Styleforum family in 2021: Amidé Hadelin has been passionate about creating premium quality accessories with the world’s finest materials and fabrics. Up for auction today are two sets of shirt & tie that you can view on the AH website:
shirt 1 + tie;
shirt 2 + tie 2.
The auction is for both sets.
The retail value of the two shirt and ties is about €500 excluding VAT, so we’ll begin bidding at $280 for these four items that are (it’s worth reminding) handmade in Italy and shipped to you directly from Europe. Please bid in increments of at least $30.
This year, all winning bidders coming in at or above retail price will also receive a rubber "Styleforum Approved" bracelet, and that at the end of all the auctions, the three auction winners bidding the most above retail will also receive a Good Art Sterling Silver rosette "rubber biscuit" from Styleforum as in special recognition of your donation.
This auction ends Tuesday, December 28, at 12:00 PM PST or 10 minutes after the last bid, whichever comes later.
National ALS Registry
In 2010, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention opened the National ALS Registry to compile a large database of information about the incidence and prevalence of ALS, how the disease develops, and what types of treatments and interventions are beneficial. Participation in the registry will help researchers understand whether some types of ALS are caused by environmental hazards, geographic exposures, or occupational risks.
People with ALS and/or their caregivers are encouraged to register at cdc.gov/als, where they will be asked to fill out short surveys about their and their families' health, their military background, and their environmental and occupational exposures.
The National ALS Registry also is expanding to include a National ALS Biorepository, with the goal to collect and store specimens from ALS patients for use in research studies. Many researchers have limited access to patient specimens. Access to such specimens is crucial because it allows scientists to validate their findings from the lab in actual human samples taken from patients with ALS. The new biorepository will help make more specimens available to researchers that they can use to accelerate therapy development.
Cheers,
Fok.
