There’s gotta be a fabric like that in the books. Have you asked steed to look around for something like that for you or if they have any suggestions?Si, will you sell me your lengths?
I’ve thought about asking lovat mill to recreate the length and see if they would go in on half the cost with me.There’s gotta be a fabric like that in the books. Have you asked steed to look around for something like that for you or if they have any suggestions?

Apparently I was the first one to give them this length from the LL.
I didn’t know lovat even worked with individuals / sold cut lengths. My thought was ask steed. Or, another thought, message il vecchio drappiere (ig below) & ask them. Send them a photo. They have a lot of fabrics in their store that aren’t online. See if they have something similar. They’re not cheap but they have a lot of fabric.

I was implying that I would ask Steed to work with me on the commission. You need to be sure that Lovat doesn't get into trouble with Alden. Then there is the question of putting 100m together. A tailor has a better chance of doing that than an individual.
I was just suggesting, that if theyre going to make the jacket, you should reach out to them - there may be a fabric similar in the current fabric books. Asking here, imo, is a shot in the dark. The fabric store in Milan might have something similar.I was implying that I would ask Steed to work with me on the commission.
I love that fabric! It looks like vintage heavy wool that one saw 50 years ago.
Try to see if Lovat will work with you. No harm since the ban....I’ve thought about asking lovat mill to recreate the length and see if they would go in on half the cost with me.

Matthew GonzalezOff-topic, but tangentially related - is anyone aware of any Huntsman expats that have set up their own shops similar to the way Edwin, Hitchcock, and Mahon have?
Source?This one looks somewhat similar:
I'm surprised you did not make a comment about the shoulders.I love that fabric! It looks like vintage heavy wool that one saw 50 years ago.
