Wow, those are amazing! Probably my holy grail when it comes to shoes I'm currently coveting. Every detail is exactly what I'm looking for, and those look great.

Are they the 7 last? Or did you do a MacNeil 5 MTO?

They are just regular MacNeils, so 7 last. Glad you like them. These are intended to look kinda like GOP Guy's holy grail for me, Walnut Shell Mac's with natural welt. Walnut calf was the next best thing.

Closeout style, so can't MTO. Otherwise, I totally agree.

I agree. (Sorry in advance for the crooked lacing. I apparently have to relearn.)

Close outs can't get the mto treatment even at regular price?

No, I'm pretty sure once they hit closeout, they're off the table

Edit: just emailed Allison to confirm.

I asked Allison last week, she said the Kenilworth was not available for MTO, because it's a close-out style...

You know what time it is, gents. Just took delivery of this new MTO! I'm pretty excited about this one. I originally asked Allison if they had any Burgundyl CXL but she said they only ordered a small amount for the Macneil5 webby and had no more. So I asked what other Horween leathers they had in stock and she said they had the usuals.... and Russet Brown Dublin leather. I remember this leather from my Wolverine 1000 Mile Krause boots and absolutely loved it on them so I set out to do a Leeds in this leather. The finished product is really stellar and a perfect companion piece to my Krause boots. So check them out! Here are pics and specs:

    Specs:
    - Leeds Derby Shoes
    - Leather: Russet Brown Dublin Leather
    - Exposed antique brass eyelets
    - Tan contrast stitching
    - Chili split reverse welt
    - Double butyl leather outsole
    - Light brown transparent edge dressing
    - Standard Brown leather insole

Here's a quick pic of my Krause boots from my archives. Note that these are also made by AE:

    A few other notes:

I asked for flat waxed laces but was given regular round laces. I have about a 25% success rate when asking for flat laces. Weird. The laces on the shoes were provided by me. I also asked for wheeling but didn't get it. I've noticed that whenever I request a wheeled chili welt they don't do the wheeling but when I ask for a wheeled natural welt they are always wheeled. I don't know why that is. Just a note that may be helpful to others. You can find more info on Horween's Dublin leather here: http://horween.com/leathers/essex-and-dublin/

Gotcha. I knew they mentioned it there. But it's been a while since I last saw that video.

Ooooooh. That's a pretty color. I may have to copycat.

Given their selection size, they definitely are lacking in certain areas. Here and a few other shoes, but definitely in boots. Try the Alden Plaza PTB. These are from Harrison Ltd.

Nice color! I think I know what leather to use for the remake of my Lexington.

Granted that my love of PTB's makes me somewhat biased, but these look amazing!

I might have to break my "no more ptb's" resolution and get a pair in dublin leather (and somehow hide it from the wife for a couple months!)

Allison confirmed that the Kenilworth is not available for our MTO program.

After seeing @bl@ster's Leeds, though, I'm less and less worried about them being too clunky.

You can "de-clunk" them a bit by adding a flat welt with single sole, but you're a 3E like me, so they won't look as sleek as bl@ster's.

    On the 1-511, I'm a dainty 11 1/2 D, so maybe that'll help, too.

Really? It's funny how different lasts fit different feet. I'm an 11 3E on the 1. Would more likely be a 10.5 4E if that were an option.
