Thank you! Glad to put those years at college to good use from time to time.
This is a great thread, thanks for setting it up Mike. It is nice to see all the excellent MTO's that have been created.
I was able to get in on this last summer while they still had walnut and cappuccino shell available. I ended up getting one of each color: walnut shell Cliftons and cappuccino shell Strands. Both had basically the same makeup:
- single Rendenbach leather sole
- light brown edge with wheeling
- chili welt
I really like how both of these turned out. The Clifton is a great shoe in my opinion. I ended up ordering this in burgundy shell a few months ago.

Mike, thanks for the comments. I'll trade you mine for your walnut shell Strands if it makes its easier
That sounds awesome . . . really looking forward to seeing how those turn out.
Definitely awesome, also looking to see how these turn out! Even with a ptb in hand and a lwb on the way I sincerely want more natty cxl in my life. My next MTO might be a natty cxl boot...
Congrats on those Cliftons, they are gorgeous.
Agreed, definitely interested to see how these turn around. I also love natty cxl (got osb natty trench boots, hunt boots, roughouts, and other natty cxl accessories haha)
I emailed Allison regarding doing an MTO on some Promontory Point or Eagle County Boots and this was the response I received.
Good Morning Nick,
Recently we have made some changes with our custom orders, I am no longer to place orders for discontinued and retired styles. I can only produce footwear that is a part of our currently collection. I apologize for the unfortunate news, and if there is anything else I can assist you with please do not hesitate to let me know.
Dangit! I wish I would have received that email instead of silence for over a week. Oh well. Back to Alden. I wanted an Eagle Country boot MTO.
Black suede Rutledge. Just wore them to church yesterday.
Oh, that is disappointing. I was hoping to do a McClain or Fairfax MTO soon.
BTW, just got the same email.
From a production standpoint it makes sense but it is still disappointing to hear. Especially considering if there were production versions of styles like the Eagle Country as seen here that the model would likely not have been discontinued in the first place...
I agree. I am about to repy to her email with a statement like that!
