What welt color and sole edge is on this walnut Cornwallis? It is side by side the walnut Bartlett. It is darker than the Bartlett.

Well, I heard back from Allison, who politely shot down my MTO since the MacNeil is discontinued.

It's their company but the idea they can, e.g. make one of y'all a Fifth Street on a completely different last (201) AND leave off the medallion but they can't make a MacNeil on the last they've made it on for years up until a few months ago strikes me as arbitrary and even silly.

    Again, not my company.

But isn't the MacNeil still listed on the website and still in the 97?

Yes and yes. Still listed at full price.

Also, it was my impression the now shell-only MacNeil is the 1.0 i.e. no Poron version. Is that correct?

Yes, they added Poron in 2.0 leather, but kept shell sans-Poron. I own a shell and a grain BB 2.0. The fit is definitely worse in the 2.0. I don't care what AE has said about it, the Poron shrinks the useable volume of the shoe.

So the whole thing doesn't make sense unless they don't have the Dublin or they don't want to tie up the people making shell MacNeils. But I find those things rather unlikely.
