Wow. For $129 I'd keep em and maybe try to darken the edge a bit. If you think they'll get good use when it comes time to recraft could specify the welt you wanted as it gets replaced.

Id do this. Darken the edges. Use the price difference to put towards a new MTO ;)

I like this idea, as it involves coming up with more one-off designs. Though at this point, I can't say I have any other "good" ideas for different styles!

Golf strands are on sale for 229 right now. How about a Merlot or navy calf strand (on the 73 last) with VTread soles?

Or Caz them up by doing one in CXL or distressed cow with a split reverse welt and dainite? With a contrast edge.

I would recommend suede, but you seem well-stocked at the moment!

OR....just sit tight until the new fall models come out. I hear rumblings of new Indys on the horizon.

I have a navy suede MTO strand and the Rush Street (cxl, dainite sole), so those two are out. I like the idea of a merlot golf strand w/ vtread though. How does the 73 last fit compare to the 5 last?

Wow, those are sweet looking LWBs. Wow.

I sadly can't see myself pulling those off though. :-(

Thanks guys! I'm looking forward to wearing these this weekend. Summer in the south is definitely my favorite time of the year.

Thanks guys. You will love them mrfixit. FWIW, I placed my order with Allison on May 5th and these arrived while I was out of town this past weekend. So less than a month.

I agree on the golf shoes. I need a pair unfortunately and playing this weekend. So have stock Double Eagles, and 2nds BB Redans on the way to see how I like em. However tempted to open Pandora's box for some one off golf shoes.

I love this news. I just finalized my first MTO today with Allison. Here's hoping I get my brown shell MacNeils before the Fourth!

It really makes me curious how the whole timeline works out. I am going on 4 months for my mto. The sad part is while i understand that things happen it is a summer shoe and I would have prefered to have it by now.

Congrats on your first MTOs! I love the Longwing Pattern. Did you do anything unique aside from the Brown Shell, for example independence lining or brown edging?

Wow, your shoe must have failed inspection 3 times or something. Not sure why it is taking soo long.

According to Allison my shoes were going to be inspected early last week. Makes me wonder if they failed again. I wonder if I would have the option to back out, if they have to be made a third time, I may not receive them until July/August.
