I'm not a big fan of the MacNeil, although it does look very nice. It makes me think a Strand in green would be nice too. I think the First Ave would look awesome in Green. Just cant justify spending $850+ taxes on a pair of boots. $650 is manageable. haha

I believe he was pertaining to the online exclusive black first avenues currently available at the online store. MTOs for the boot should still be available.

Also for info, Paul said they will come out with a First Ave in different leathers next year. Walnut grain being one of them.

Seriously, I think if I were do an MTO right now, it would be of the First Avenue. Also, I'm also planning to go to the Philadelphia event do you know what TIME it is? I never received a flyer.

4-8pm. I received an email from the store a little over a week ago.

    I'll be there around 6pm.

I am thinking of getting this Dundee

    Bottle Green Shell Cordovan
    Independence lining and insole
    Flat chili welt
    Wheeling and fudging
    Medium brown transparent edge dressing
    Tone on tone stitching
Double JR sole or possibly commando sole.

I know others have done it but I have a hard time wrapping my mind around a Dundee with so many dress-shoe details (flat welt, wheeling, etc.). Otherwise, it sounds great.

I did one pair previously with flat welt and wheeling and I actually really like that [IMG]

No worries, we'll make sure you get your first ave boot.

I agree. In fact, I'm off wheeled edges completely, except for the dressy balmorals. I know Alden does wheeled edges on chukkas and LWBs, but their edging looks different (and much nicer).

My poor, hapless kenilworth remake had the missed wheeling detail of the original, and I actually liked that better.
