    Love these!

Though for the life of me, can't figure why we decided to put an eyelet at the top. Adds 15 seconds to the time it takes to put on each shoe!

If I remember correctly tjyoung wanted it that way for the navy because the laces on the top speedhooks of his original EC MTOs kept popping out.

I have both configurations and I much prefer the top 3 being all speed hooks. Have never had laces pop out. I agree that the top being an eyelet requires some fiddling about.

    Different strokes for different folks.

Aesthetically they don't matter because pants hide the top. All the EC GMTOs came out great!

Regarding $20 gift cards from the Trunk show MTO's, I was just shot down. Like someone said before, it's only good on what's rung up today.

I have never lace the ec, Dalton or long branch to the top so didn't bother me

Hmmm that is interesting. Do Shakers normally come with the Poron insole? Is that why people seem to size up on them? I still gotta find a pair to try on.

What are people's thoughts on the University? I'm thinking about an MTO without the medallion:

    Here is a photo from @DJTraveler :

In a way, the medallion seems to bring the shoe together, in another way it might look nice without it. I'm thinking of these in brown shell cordovan btw.

The navy team still owes you a big thanks organizing the deets for that GMTO. Takes a lot of work to get everyone agreeing on the specs. Also I think w/o your push the navy wouldn't have reached 12.

Anyway, as I said all the GMTOsnare awesome! At 295, absolute gems!

Wow, that kind of sucks. I just spent about $3k on shoes and could have just waited a day to get $600? :-(

Hmm...personally I would keep the medallion on the University. To be honest I've never been a fan of the U-wing design, although it seems to be a favorite of Style Forum. U-wings always kind of reminded me of mary-jane's. The University actually looked better to me compared to some of the others (Carmina, Vass, etc) I've seen due to the extra broguing it has. But hey, if you like the design, that's all that matters and you should go for it.

I would keep the medallion myself as well. I find the U shape odd as well and prefer the classic McAllister/Jefferson/Cambridge Wingtip design.

Perhaps a return rebuy could've been done? It's too late now unfortunately.

How many pairs did you pick up? All from the trunk show?
