    X-Post from AE Appreciation Thread:

For those of you with many MTO makeups under your belt, your input is requested.
How does this sound for my trunk show order:

    Strand SMU:
    -Bottle Green Shell
    -Tone on tone stitching
    -No Medallion
    -Independence Lining
    -Regular Buff (or Chili) Welt
    -Wheeled Edge
    -Fudging
-Medium Brown (for natural) or Light Brown (for Chili) Transparent Edging
-Beaded Piping (is Bottle Green possible?)
-Double Leather Reinbach Sole with Combination Heel

    My first independent make up.

Looking for an honest opinion. MacNeil with Brown leather and brown suede. White back stay. Natural welt. I want a unique shoe for fall. Tell me what you think.

I say that sounds like a winner if you were to ask me!

My townleys arrived, but unfortunately one of the shoes bow. What are my options at this point? Any suggestions?

You can see how the right shoe is a bit off as it bows even without wearing them....

    left shoe is perfect though!

I like the look overall hate the white back part. If you want something bold go with light brown or natural welt as opposed to the white back part

Polish the white back with a tan or brown and it could be interesting.

Oddball idea, but maybe navy suede instead of white? Definitely unique but less jarring. Another cool idea would be pebblegrain and suede in the same color instead of smooth calf and suede.

I am assuming he is using the online tool to avoid the MTO fee and I do not think they offer pebble..If they do for sure Pebble Grain with suede is a winner winner chicken dinner

EDIT - They do have Brown alpine grain - that is a winner!...Alpine/chocolate or alpine/Bogue both really nice

I don't get the white part. I'd stick to the same leather for the back stay as the rest of the wing.

If the intent was to make something stand out, I'll probably choose a bolder contrast between leather and suede like snuff suede & burnished brown or brogue suede & chili.

The alpine grain is the same leather used in the San Marco according to Allison. I agree would look great also with snuff suede for that contrast that I think you want to make that "bold" statement.

My dream fall shoe would be a Portland in bitter chic suede with contrast Norwegian stitching.

Thanks mdubs... Curious to see if the "no medallion removal" clause referenced by someone earlier is binding. If i can't remove it, I'm looking at natty Macneil.

You practically work for Paul! Ask him to bring the Portland back as an online only...I think we stalled at around 8 for that build and with the trunk shows no way we get to 12 any time soon. I almost broke down and ordered an Alden NST boot in suede/kudu material without the contrast stitch but I really want the contrast!

So I got home and looked at these. Turns out they are a 12D. The original request we sent to Allison had me down for a 12 EEE, but the invoice she sent me says 12 D. I have sent her an email to see if we can get this straightened out.

So thats where mine ended up :) Just kidding, it seems like a mix up on their end as far as getting the right size made vs getting sizes mixed up in shipping. Mine was a 12D and I can't remember if anyone else had that size.

Side note are those the bags that came with them? :)
