I am loving both the walnut and cappuccino cordovan. These shell colors don't appear on AE's website...I assume they were limited edition runs or discontinued colors? How often does AE introduce new shell options?

John, that is a terrific question and I will make a mental note to add that to the first post.

AE's only two "rare" Shell Cordovan colors are Walnut and Cappuccino. Their standard colors are Black, Brown, and Burgundy (Color 8). To my knowledge AE ordered the Walnut and Cappuccino for a Webgem run and had left overs they used to fulfill our MTO requests.

Unfortunately, AE has told me that they are all out of Walnut and Cappuccino Shell and are currently not planning to re-order Walnut or Cappuccino shell at this time.

These were the only instances in my knowledge of AE adding additional shell colors.

#7801 Bayfield boots (a year or two discontinued but they made 'em anyway)

    English Tan Dublin leather
    Buff split reverse welt
    Vibram lug outsole

...and they were built in size 14AA (in which this boot was not originally available). :slayer:

This pair I requested within a day of Paul Grangaard's original offer. Bone stock MacNeil gunboats in burgundy shell cordovan, but again in 14AA (a typically unavailable size). I was given a bit of a discount even below the waived MTO fee; they were probably taking pity on my freakish feet.

Shown below with FormFunctionForm shell watchband and Mitchell shell money clip wallet.

Oh, my. For the price ($197 for an MTO), these are a steal. I've always admired the Eagle County but hated the wedge sole.

    Great idea mdubs.

This is my cappuccino Leeds MTO. The only thing making them a bit unique is that I went with double butyl sole (ie. double waterlock) instead of the more common double leather JR sole.

    Specs:

    *CAPPUCCINO SHELL CORDOVAN
    *TONE ON TONE STITCHING
    *BROWN LEATHER INSOLE
    *CHILI SPLIT REVERSE WELT
    *LIGHT BROWN EDGE FINISH
    *DOUBLE BUTYL OUTSOLE
    *AE TOPLIFT

Wow! Bl@ster I forgot how stunning these are. You added some subtle details that really make them pop. Contrast stitching and brass eyes make for a stunning combination.

Mike, thank you so much for taking this on. Can't wait for my MTO brown shell MacNeils to arrive so I can join the fun.

Now, can we also create "The Official AE Lasts and Sizing Thread"? [IMG]

Wow, those are sweet. The Olive Neumok product shots on AE's site make the leather look much lighter in color. Do your Strandmoks look much different in sunlight?

The do appear a bit lighter in the sunlight. And, to be honest, the do look a hair darker than they are in that pic. It is a odd color to photograph. It either looked to washed out or a hair dark. great fun shoe though. Also looks great with blue laces.

These are absolutely stunning Mike! How does the 3 last fit compare to the five last? Do you wear the same size in both lasts? It appears the 3 last has more room at the ball of the foot? On the five last, my 6.5e strand fits really well with 1/3'' V once laced up. On the PA, 6.5e, there is no gap in the V, and I have belching at the throat. 6.5d in the strand fits everywhere except at the ball of my foot where I have pain. I have skinny wide feet at the ball with a high arch. Perhaps 6.5d on the 3 last would fit better. I tried the 6.5e hanover (3 last) in a store and it was big. If you don't mind, what was the price mark up ordering these in cordovan? Thanks!!!

Thank you for the compliments. I really like the Harrison's personally.

The 3-last is a bit longer than the 5-last. However I did go with my TTS on these shoes. I think part of the design on the 3, is that your toes don't normally completely make it to the front tip of the shoes. I will say, many complain that this last does not work for them, as it is longer and narrower. If at all possible, I recommend you try it on. I drove from San Diego to LA before I ordered mine to ensure sizing. :)

They were the standard Shell price (now $650, but was $595 at the time). I also got lucky and purchased during the Rediscover America (RDA) sale and actually got the from $505. I am unsure if AE will acknowledge such sale prices moving forward.
