Note: This pair is an interesting unlined version of Alden's "stock" tassel loafer. The piping around the foot opening is a bit wavy due to the unstructured nature of the shoe, but it straightens out on foot. They are firsts to the best of my knowledge.

I just have a calendar reminder to reach out once a month about rare shell. I don’t think they actually have a list. I just reach out and they confirm whether or not they have any rare shell in the pipe.

I’m looking forward to when one of the big dogs in the main alden thread post those whiskeys. lol

not to be a Debbie - Downer, but I’ve been at this game almost 12 years and can’t recall a single posting of rare shell in size 7…. That’s my size and I check here daily. I’ve been fortunate to snag some rares from a few retailers (Kathy & Joe @ AoDC!!). It will take major patience these days to get hold of an exotic…

thanks for your response. i’ve been lurking and posting for about a year and have similarly noticed the rarity of rare shell size 7s.

I reached out to a bunch of a retailers and im on a list or two. I did pass on a closed lace whiskey make up from leffot a couple months back and I’m feeling that maybe it was a grave mistake to not at least just see how it fit into the collection.

It looks like us small doods can spend an exorbitant amount of money buying on japanese resell sites, since our size seems to be more common on there, but i don’t know if that’s the path i want to take.

Anyways, thanks again and I’ll check out Alden of DC.

Fellow Size 7.5 on a TTS last and 7 on a size down last here. Our size (and small sizes in general) are already rare here (and overall) as it is, so I feel your pain.

Thankfully my current lifestyle doesn't warrant needing new Aldens - I'm still mostly happy with my brown oxfords - though I dread the day I start getting interested in rare shell...

I've sold a few here along the way 7/7.5. We are out there lol. I've got a pair of ravello captoes in 7.5D on Grant last but will take me a while to get them out of storage might be months, I'll make a note of it for the future.
