The Alden Buy, Sell, Trade (B/S/T) Thread

Considering moving these on. Color 8 shell LHS, classic model 986 Leisure Handsewn. Size 8D US. purchased from Alden SF about a year ago and worn reasonably, but you can see from the soles they have not had significant wear at all. Just find myself reaching for their suede brethren more often than not, so hoping to rehome these somewhere they'll get more attention. Stored with trees but they will not be included here.

haha I know. Just never been quite happy with the fit on these for my foot, so they never actually get pulled out. I think too, that the next go round I’ll buy the version with the antique edge instead. Tho these are stone cold classics for sure.

Ah, mine are the opposite, they are absolutely the best fitting and most comfortable shoes I own...

I'm also debating whether to buy the classic 986 or the ones with the antique edge. What's making you lean towards an antique pair? Alden on Madison has a pre-order for them (D6207) right now.

I’m generally one of the old farts who thinks Alden has gone overboard with 8/antique but not with the 986. I find that to be a perfect pairing.

I think the antique looks good, but I have the traditional ones and when I wear them I'm just as happy as you can be with a pair of loafers. Pretty sure that I won't ever need to replace them so I'm just going to not worry about it.... though maybe when I get them resoled....
