I've been collecting Alden for a little over a year now and am realizing what I like and don't like; moving to LA from NJ is also fueling this post lol.
Up for your consideration are two boots I have purchased used from a very kind gentleman on this page.

I’m not much for ‘getting around’ rules but what I typically indicate is that the price is net-to-me. That way I am not (at least I don’t think) violating the rules. Just a thought……

My understanding is PayPal notifies the govt if you pull in $600 or more over the year. They don’t ask how much you paid. That’s up to you to defend through onerous documentation by April 15th the following year.

I posted a few shoes in here last November but never had real conviction to sell them. But I figured I'd circle back with a genuine listing for my Alden Cigar cordovan Indy boots in 12D. Comes with Alden box.

Fewer than five wears; color is fairly light brown with a hint of olive IMO. Given how few wears these have, I am certain I can buff out that mark on the left toebox. Purchased from TSM, I believe. These are my only shell Indys but I usually look to wear calf when I am in outfits that call for Indys.

Exactly right! I was contacted by Admins of SF and by PP for specifying F&F, even though others had done it for years and I was just following their lead...I no longer specify that option, but if selling, and one contacts me via PM, it may come up......

I avoid net-to-me because the price is unclear; people don’t know my costs. I add an amount for overhead into my asking price.

As a buyer, i very much prefer sellers who name their price explicitly.
