Hey fellas! Happy 25! I just ordered a couple pairs of Cambridge from a guy on the FB page. Black and burgundy. I’ve got 18 pairs of calf but this will be my first ever shell. Sooooooo… tell me what products I need to take care of them.
I'd also add a boar's hair brush does wonders and I have lately been fond of Collonil 1909 neutral conditioner. Bought some in Japan and use it on all my shell!

Happy 25! For my shells, I just do rigorous brushing with a horse hair brush after 6-10 wears in my rotation, and the shine returns back. I keep them with shoe trees when not in use. I have bought my shells as new... I don't know in which condition are your Cambridges... You can refer the Horween guidelines here: https://www.horween.com/blog/2018/4/6/shell-cordovan-care

I just use VSC. I used to use Cordovan creams, but didn’t find that they were needed. Especially since most of my Shell shoes are marbled.

☝️ This, I largely use Bick4 or Lexol when conditioning needed, then finish with a light application of Collonil and brush to a shine.

It has me intrigued. I wonder what the longevity is like.
It is a one piece sole, so if you chew up heels quickly, you may have to get new soles quite often. Wilberts taught me this.

These natural shell Strands arrived yesterday. The interesting truth is that I tried to order a pair of these in the past with a double JR and beige stitch (except the shell was bourbon). AE got it wrong two times when making them, so I just kept the 2nd pair at a discount. This F2 got everything right that I wanted years ago. I guess things like this can happen when you least expect it.

On another note, these coffee Leeds have a large air bubble on the left shoe at the throat. I tried them on, but it's uncomfortable with this on my left ankle. These will have to go back and it's a shame.

Normally I'd just roll my eyes and keep scrolling but this eBay listing (obligatory "not my listing" disclaimer...) is so egregious that I thought I'd let others get a good laugh. Heavily worn calf strands that got a fancy resole and are asking $850. I clicked the 'watch' button to give the seller false hope and also to follow how this abomination plays out -- countless relistings, meager discount offers -- I'm in for all of it! Feel free to join me.

Who knows, if I get on the brown wine one of these nights I might just feel frisky and make seller a $30 offer, followed by coming up in $5 increments

I guess it depends on the durability for me. I'm not apposed, although I usually prefer leather. I have Alden's commando, neocork, and the bigger lug sole with no complaint. Their crepe sole though... I hate it. It collects every piece of dirt, dog hair, whatever and they never seem to look clean. I got rid of those because I couldn't take it. They were comfortable though so if these are a better variation of that I'd be willing to get it provided its on a pair of shoes I want.
