My shell Alden full-stap loafer on the Aberdeen is actually 8A. Does that mean i get to compete with you guys too?

Sounds like the too, too, too narrow last. You love it, I hate it. No competition with me.

I actually wore my walnut Leeds 2.0 today to work. I didn't take a picture because let's be honest, who cares about the Leeds other than me?

Nope. Trying to put those on would either literally crush my feet or tear the shell. 8E in Aberdeen for me.

I care about the Leeds, it’s one of my favorite AE models. I think of the Leeds with its wide stretches of single pieces of leather as a canvas that showcase the qualities of the leather and changes with age and wear. One of my favorite pair of Leeds is a black pebble “cashmere” grain leather made with in 1988 that over years has smoothed in areas such as the toe box. With polish, it doesn’t shine, but rather glows with a subtle luster. Lovely shoes.

Got these in today. I think they look good in person. They fit like a glove too.

They may not be some beefy elaborate brogued out gyw captoe but I would challenge every loafer hater to try the Verona- my guess is at least half will come aboard. It's easily one of the most comfortable accommodating shoes they make.

Hey fellas! Happy 25! I just ordered a couple pairs of Cambridge from a guy on the FB page. Black and burgundy. I’ve got 18 pairs of calf but this will be my first ever shell. Sooooooo… tell me what products I need to take care of them.
Love the Cambridge.

Bick 4 is my choice.

Congratulations, you caught the shell bug. Keep them clean. Brush, brush, then brush some more with a horsehair brush. Use a deer bone or back of a metal spoon to smooth out folds - judiciously. Saphir Renovateur followed by the color appropriate cordovan cream Polish, #71 for burgundy shell and #1 for black shell. Do all that and your shoes will last longer than you will.

I do both Bick 4 and VSC. I find that VSC is good for getting all of the piss droplet stains out of shell. Alternatively, you could just not piss in your shoes, but where’s the fun in that?

That is a LOT of shoelace. How long are those?

Way too

They came with a different pair of boots, but I wanted to try the navy with the chili shell. May eventually get a shorter pair of waxed navy flat laces, but I just don’t care enough at the moment lol.

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
