Lauren confirmed that they’re doing custom welts for in store orders.
So calling into a store work or do I have to drag myself in? If I have to drive down to Coral Gables I will almost certainly be the death knell. Parking and traffic in there are the reason I didn't go when they were hosting. Big PITA.

I was digging through my photos today when I ran across one of my old pairs. These were well used from Ebay, so I had AE recraft them with different welts and stitching. The eyelets were added later by a local cobbler.

OK so I am now thinking of a McAllister instead of the Chandler so I can keep the boot count down. would a hatch-grain McAllister with split-reverse welt be too busy?
My opinion is yes. That is why I'm considering doing this with a PA. double leather with split welt.

Just picked up some gently used McAllisters in Navy. Will post pics once I give them a condition and shine.

Any tips on how to wear these? Never had "blue" leather shoes before. Can I generally substitute them for black?

My favorite thing to do with blues is pair them with gray or charcoal pants. I'm doing that today with these chinos I picked up recently. They can look black, or very blue depending on light. This midnight navy leather is kind of uncomfortable for a while. Takes a long time to soften.

Did you find a pair of navy shell McAllisters? That's awesome.

Also, I think anyone who chooses the McAllister boot in navy or green is going to be very happy this round.

You can just call it in. I guess my point was that it won’t be an option if you order online, but a store associate can do that customization for you.

Not that I am going to do 3 pairs, but here’s what I’m cooking…

Marbled #8 McAllister Boot, flat welt, brown Dainite, brown welt

Marbled #8 Strand, split reverse welt, double JR, natural welt

Marbled #8 Park Ave, flat welt, brown Dainite, brown welt

Think this TS I'll only make a Marbled Burgundy Strand. Was debating on the McAllister shoe but the pair of Brown Shell Cambridge shoes I own get very little wear. I could see myself going natural shell McAllister, but that might be it.

A Hamilton would've been expensive cause I would've purchased almost every color (not exaggerating).

I just wish there were other vault/limited type styles this time around. I'd go bananas for a double monk or a courtside style sneaker. I really wanted something like the Randolph Bit to make an appearance here, but it isn't like I could get it to fit anyway lmao.

The Strand is by far my favorite AE shoe, and I usually have really good luck with it fitting well. I obviously can't ignore the McAllister boot as the special makeup either though, so those will probably be my pickups.

Remember all: Go buy AE Giftcards ahead of the trunk show so that you can get your Collector's Points in time to actually use them on your TS purchases. Don't get caught with your pants down 6 months from now trying to figure out what to buy with your $60-150 worth of AE Bucks.

The McAllister Boot is interesting, but if I'm gonna buy a Wingtip boot, the Alden pattern is the most aesthetically pleasing to me.
