Blue suede Strands on v-tread. Just for the day, the laces were changed from brown to red.

These green shell Strands were starting to bloom when I pulled them out last week. Gave them a vigorous brushing and they shined up nicely.

These oxblood Daltons are almost too red. Was thinking of using some Saphir burgundy or plum on the wings and heels to darken them up a little bit.

Cigar Strands, one of my favorites. Wish they had a Manistee belt in cigar.

It may be over 80 degrees outside, but it is also October and time to wear Shakers.

I'm a little vexed that the Freeport is being replaced with the Carter. I like the look of the Freeport more than the Carter … but the Carter does have an Itshide sole.

It is awesome that we have two people entering the Thunderdome with Freeports. I wish the best of luck to both @mreams99 and @manowar. We are going to need to see pictures of the transformation!

I would go with a store that is close to you. If that doesn't work, I can highly recommend State Street in Boston. They're over 1,000 miles away from me, but I can't see myself using any other store to make my purchases. Great people.

In fact, I just got off the phone with the wonderful people at State Street to place an order for a green shell belt. They gave me a heads up about the upcoming RDA sale, it starts tomorrow for anyone signed up as a collector and the sixth for anyone who isn't. I've had my eye on both the white suede Strandmok and the new loden Strandmok. Might be time to cash in on all these points.
The Carter is on a new last and doesn’t have multiple width options.
The Freeport was on the 1757 and had narrow, medium, and wide width options.

Allen Edmonds took a big step backwards in replacing the Freeport boot with the Carter.

Yep, I totally got weasled by this one....

Was just gonna order a green belt since I bought like 20 plus pairs last year overall. You know, Just a little something to match my Randolphs.

Talked myself out of green Strands, PA boot, burgundy belt, UV Idunnowhat....

I was doing so well....

Nicely done!

I almost weasled myself into this one. I take no responsibility for any anger your wife or girlfriend may throw upon to you.

I know I'm going to regret missing out the denim, but it's just not the best timing. I applaud AE for doing a good job this time.

Off to Prague Friday evening.

Do I take AEs or just Carmina/Truman?

Maybe the Daltons I guess, good dual-role casual/suited.

Normally I always go in person, but couldn't make it work so I placed my TS orders today by phone. Ended up going with the Drake after all. Have to take some chances in life, and in UV as well. Green Dundee also on the way.

While on the phone with the store, I asked about TS sales. They told me the sales have actually been single digit this year, much to their (and my) surprise. This is the San Francisco location. I actually phrased it by asking how many dozen sales they made since someone here mentioned their location earlier in the thread getting a few dozen.

Looks like all the belts and the fancy shell colors weren't enough for folks in my area this year. Wish we could see the sales figured for the show as a whole. My SA did "hear a story" about another location where someone called in and decided they wanted each model in every color. Of course I immediately went to check the spreadsheet, but supposedly this was not one of us weasels here on SF, but some college student who just heard about these trunk shows. What a world.

They also confirmed that the Freeport was on its way out, as well as the Landon (Couldn't remember if this is old news here). These two boots were pretty legendary, IMO, and I hope they get good replacements beyond the silly Carter.

The Carter looks like a massive step backwards from the Freeport. I’ve been in my (now) local AE store a few times in the past year and can’t say I saw very many things that were super tempting. Think the Barbour Higgins was the only real standout I can remember prior to the new Park Ave boot.
